Adobe Is Political
Exhibited at: ALL OVER – Open School Gallery – Le Voyage à Nantes 2025, and LE FLUX EST ANDROGYNE – Espace OHM Town – Nantes, 2026
Adobe Is Political tells the story of Miguel Mendias, a queer, trans, and Chicano artist living in Marfa, Texas, in the United States. His struggle to reclaim his family’s former home and his efforts to rebuild it with his own hands using the traditional local adobe technique—the only financially viable solution—also serve as a protest against building restrictions that appear to directly promote the gentrification of Marfa.
