Nudity as a symbol of defenselessness, abandonment, exposure. Anguish, going up, going down, going up, going down, touching the ground, surrendering, calm, exposure.
My despair in the face of migration, my personal confusion, is it important to have a home, a place that feels like my own, mine, my home? My vulnerability posed from my physical body, unathletic, exposed. Likewise, daring, exhibited, surrendered. It is the first time I take pictures of myself. It is the first time I see myself.
My body exposed in the window, my being exposed to the city, the street, the adversities of a migration process: sleeping in different places, not unpacking, not making a nest, not having a surface to make my own, to take care of, to damage, to scratch, to work. I look like an animated version of a self-portrait by John Coplans, but in which my face does matter, it is, without a doubt, me.
